We are delighted to announce that Fleur will be offering the chance to help create a woven deer sculpture from found wood and materials. There is already one magnificent beast stalking the woods. Come help build another one!

A weekend of woodland wonder at Sladebank Woods
Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th October
11 a.m to 4 p.m both days

Discover a wood on your doorstep this autumn and experience some of the wonders that our native woodlands can provide.

FREE EVENT Something for all ages.

Open weekend 2017 timetable

Apple pressing: We will be pressing crab and other apples. Please feel free to bring your own apples and small plastic bottles to take juice away

Charcoal making: will be made in biscuit tins to produce drawing/artists charcoal

Children’s activities: a range of different activities on offer through the weekend

Guided walks: around the woods and including the orchard

Refreshments: there will be tea/coffee/biscuits, and new this year the Falafel Cafe

Green woodwork: produce interesting things using a shave horses

Volunteers welcome: If you would like to help out over the weekend please do get in touch

Some things we need: trestle tables, cakes, people to handle refreshments; sharp knives, chopping boards and bowls for the apples.

SUNDAY WORKSHOP

We are asking for a donation of £10 in advance/£12 on the day per place to go to the workshop leader. The mushroom workshop involves sharp tools so min age 12 suggested if working alone. Book via the link below:

Mushroom logs: make your own with Dom Thomas. 10 places max. Booking (www.fungusloci.cscic.org for more info about Dom). 1300 – 1545. Extra places if enough interest

Find the play park on Summer Crescent and follow the signs from the main gate – about 100 metres. Gate is next to 8 Summer Crescent, GL5 1PP
