Venue Hire

Sladebank Woods has various indoor and outdoor spaces available for use and hire. Our five-acre woodland feels wild and remote, yet it is only 20 minutes’ walk from Stroud town centre on the urban/rural fringe. As such, it is ideal for organised gatherings and yet is quiet enough for anyone seeking solitude in nature.

We’ve been delighted to host different events over the years including birthday parties, welcome to fatherhood and menarche ceremonies, sweat lodges, wakes/life celebrations, Forest Schools, events for disabled children, picnics, and personal retreats. Whatever you have in mind, please contact us to find out how we can help you to plan the perfect event in nature.

Roundhouse

The roundhouse can seat up to 25 people on straw bales or chairs, or 12 people sitting on the earth floor – there are carpets, sheepskins and cushions for comfort. To keep you warm and cosy the roundhouse has a wood burner and is fitted with decorative wool panels for insulation. This space is particularly suitable for groups who prefer to be inside during the colder months, and for events where privacy is welcome. There is a covered area with a sink and running water and also a compost toilet nearby. Access to the fire circle for cooking can be arranged in advance.

Suggested donation: £12 per hour (includes set up time); minimum £36
Day rate 0900-1800: £100/Evening rate 1800-2200: £50

You will have access to the fire circle for cooking or you can bring your own gas stove. Utensils can be provided by arrangement.

"My heart swells and my whole body relaxes with the memory of that precious retreat time in your yurt. Three days living that close to the land, even in the depths of winter, was a great joy thanks to the space you have created there. Thank you for your generous hospitality"

Our popular wood-fired sauna is the perfect way to unwind in nature and is a great tonic for the body. It’s located in a private space in a cosy converted shed and we use logs from our land to heat the wood burner. Your health and safety

We have done our best to make your visit as safe as possible. There is a risk assessment in place which is reviewed every six months. The identified risks include slipping, tripping, falling and risk of burning. Wear footwear with a good grip as many paths are on slopes and can be muddy and very slippery when wet.
