Latest news and events in the woods

In May 2024, we celebrated a weekend of storytelling, ecological walk, introduction to native owls, tool sharpening workshops, community singing, poetry, crafts and woodland fun all around!
BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
🦉 Wrens’ Birds of Prey
13:00 – 14:00 / Owl pellet dissection
14:00 – 15:30 / Visit native owls in their habitat around the woods
15:30 / Birds of prey talk and questions
🍕 Catering/Food
We will be serving pizzas in our wood-fired oven from 12:00 til 14:00. Our woodland cafe will be open from 12:00 – 15:00 for tea, coffee and cakes. We are asking for donations.
SATURDAY 11th
🎶 Performances
12:00 – 13:00 / Storytelling with Kate Smith
14:00 – 14:30 / Community singing with Sheila MacBeth
14:30 – 15:30 / Songs, spells and spoken word with Juliette Morton, Dialect
🪓 Workshop
13:00 – 16:00 Tool sharpening and maintenance: garden tools, secateurs and shears, with Tom Lamming
Ecological walk
🌳 13:30 / Many ways to know a tree, a walk and talk in the woods exploring trees as medicine for mind and body, and how to take care of these beautiful beings. Up to 10 people. With Amy and Patrick.
SUNDAY 12th

🌿 12:00 Herb tasting with Hettie Peplow
🐭 13:15 Story walk ‘Jumping mouse’ with Laura Francis
🪓 Workshop
13:00 – 16:00 Tool sharpening and maintenance: making new handles and tool care, with Tom Lamming
🎤 Performance
14:00 – 15:30 Songs, spells and spoken word with Ronnie McGrath
